Graham Hobbins steps down
Graham Hobbins is a life-long supporter of the Brakes, he joined at the start of the Brakes Trust and was co-opted onto the Trust board in September 2013. Graham is stepping down from the board after over eight years service.
One of two ‘sparkies’ on the board – Graham has been a real live wire. His contacts behind the scenes at Warwick School as well as Leamington Cricket Club, Lords Taverners and CareUK have been invaluable and instrumental in aiding our fundraising and community activities.
Graham has been the Trust’s Fan Liaison – always ready to hear fans views about the Trust and the club.
Graham has also volunteered as the match day PA announcer – a task he has embraced with his usual enthusiasm and his own unique play-list. Keeping his ear to the ground he has given the Trust a useful insight on matters concerning the club.
Never short of imaginative ideas – Graham’s most recent fundraising initiative featured him covering a distance of 100 km on his cross-trainer over a period of ten days, complete with live stream updates during the lock-down in 2020 – he raised nearly £500 for the club and the Trust.
In short Graham will be a hard act to follow – but I’m sure he will wish future board members every encouragement.
On behalf of the Trust board and also myself personally, I wish to thank Graham for his enthusiastic contribution as an invaluable Trust board member.
Nick Rogers (Chairman – Brakes Trust).
