Leamington rated 157th best-supported club in the country

Tony Kempster's website ranked all of the teams, Step 6 and above, by average crowd size.  Leamington were ranked 157th.  If you remove all the Premiership and Football league clubs from the rankings it means that the Brakes were 65th of all the nonleague teams.

There was no surprise that Manchester United were top with an average crowd of almost 17,000 more than second place Newcastle United.  Coventry City were 26th in their first season in the Ricoh Stadium, and Colchester United's run in League One leading to promotion to the League Championship ranked them 82nd.  The highest ranked nonleague team was FC United of Manchester, North West Counties Division Two, who were ranked 87th with an average of 3,059.  This was their first season as they were formed in the summer of 2005 by disgruntled Manchester United fans.  Nuneaton Borough, Conference North, averaged over a thousand while rivals Redditch United, also Conference North, averaged less than Leamington.  Other local Southern League teams Banbury United and Bedworth United also averaged crowds less than the Brakes.  Bottom of the pile was Merrow, Combined Counties Division One, who averaged only eight fans per game.

There is no surprise to find that Leamington came top of the Midland Football Alliance clubs.  The biggest crowd in the Alliance was the Boxing Day visit of Brakes to near neighbours Racing Club Warwick.  Leamington's visit to 12 other clubs was the biggest attendance for that club.
