New board co-optee: Adrian Barton

The Trust are pleased to announce that Adrian Barton has been co-opted onto the board. Adrian was one of the key members in the organising team for Citizen of the Year, and of course he has a long association with our club.

Adrian has been a lifelong and vocal supporter of Leamington FC, and formally AP Leamington, for the last 40 years; he can still hear the calls from the original stand well known as Block A. He has been active in all most all aspects of the club from being on the original Supporters Club with Gerry Parker and Alex Courtnage, who used to meet in the Windmill before the days of the ‘Brakes Social Club’ running The ‘Tote’.

He was active on the Social Club committee for a number of years with Don Hartwell and John Akerman, and did many shifts behind the bar with Fred and Betty. He also spent many a happy half time in the Assistance Club Hut with Frank and Di Enock.

Whilst the club was in abeyance he helped with many fundraising activities organised by the gang of four, and on the club’s revival he has spent time forwarding the cause of the Supporters Club and the Vice Presidents Club. He has organised many fundraising events for the club as well as helping build the present Social Club and spending one Easter installing the floodlights!! His most enjoyable time was organising and sponsoring the annual Dinner Dance and Prize Giving for the last 8 years carrying on a tradition he started in 1976.

We warmly welcome Adrian onto the Trust Board and look forward to working together.
