Prostate Cancer Screening @ NWG
Brakes Trust is pleased to support an initiative in which Leamington FC is working in partnership with the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust, offering supporters the chance to have a simple test that measures the levels of prostate-specific antigens in the blood. The test involves taking a small blood sample from the finger or arm, which is then sent away to a laboratory for screening. The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust will be offering supporters free tests in the clubhouse from 2.15pm until kick-off and again during the half-time break at the home matches against Tiverton Town (8 January) and Cambridge City (22 January).
Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men in the UK. Around 10,000 men die every year as a direct result of the disease. The PSA test identifies high levels of proteins in the blood that may indicate prostate conditions, which could include prostate cancer: come on, Brakes Trust members and others – you know it makes sense.
