Run, Berger, Run

The Trust is delighted to support Brakes fan Marc Weissenberger as he attempts his first marathon from Nice to Cannes on 20 November 2011. Marc will be running in aid of Lupus UK, which raises money for research into the little-known condition, and is a charity close to Marc’s heart since someone very close has Lupus.

Run Berger Run!

Marc writes: “I’d appreciate any support, as would others close to me. It makes the horrible miles in training a little more bearable!”

Marc continues: “Lupus is a little-known condition, but it is both debilitating and occasionally fatal. It affects mainly women, and generally symptoms include extreme fatigue, arthritis of varying severity, poor circulation and hyper-sensitivity to sunlight. It is lifelong & incurable. One of the biggest issues is the ignorance in the medical profession of its symptoms, and sufferers frequently go through years of mis-diagnosis, despite an estimated 50,000 of them in the UK alone.”
