The Myton Mile sponsored walk will raise funds for a very worthwhile local cause, Myton Hospices. Anybody is welcome to ‘walk the mile’ and sponsor forms can be requested from the club admin office at info@leamingtonfc.co.uk .

Paul Robinson, Bolton Wanderers defender will formally open the Community Fete at 12 noon and a host of activities have been lined up to ensure a fun packed afternoon for the whole family.

Lildl, our Community Development Partner, will be providing a Barbecue as well as Beer, Wine & Cheese tasting tents. (Sponsored Walk participants will be entitled to a complimentary barbecue meal). Face Painting is being provided by ‘Rainbow Faces’ and Lidl are also bringing along their very own Blimp.

We have a stage lined up which will feature live entertainment throughout the afternoon, including ‘Little Elvis Sylvain, who recently appeared on Blue Peter and who came top in the novice section of a Europe-wide Elvis tribute act competition.

JayKays Dance troupe who featured at this year’s Citizen of the Year awards night, hosted by the Brakes Trust, will be performing a dance routine and there will also be demonstrations from Clearys Boxing Gym from Leamington Spa and Sifu Andy Watson a Black Belt in Kung Fu who has recently returned from a training session with Shaolin Monks in China.

Vintage Motorcycles will be on display and the stocks will be on site again whereby you can ‘punish’ someone (maybe the Chairman!), with a soaking of wet sponges.

There will also be a variety of fairground attractions, including ‘The Tipping Bed’, Barrell Roll and ‘Test of Strength’ and of course the usual tombolas. Various competitions have been lined up throughout the afternoon where prizes can be won. These will include a Wii competition in the clubhouse (top score of the day will win a prize) and petanque.

Back by popular demand is a Six-a-Side football tournament for both boys and girls of all ages and together with a crossbar challenge and penalty shootout the footballing fanatics can get involved too. Just register on the day.

At 3:00 pm we will be drawing the winning tickets for the Summer Draw, which sees a first prize of £500. Tickets can be bought on the day right up until the draw time, for those who haven’t bought one previously.

In addition to a licensed bar there will be a coffee shop serving not only teas and coffees but scrumptious strawberries and cream. Ladies will have a pamper zone, gentlemen too (perhaps).

The club are also pleased to welcome many charitable stalls who will be in attendance including the Whitnash Charitable Trust and the Royal British Legion/Forces Childrens Trust.

Anybody wishing to have a car boot sale are more than welcome to pitch up as are table-top sellers (£5 per pitch, and you will need to be set up by 11:00 am ahead of the planned sponsored walk).

The club are looking for the support of all Brakes fans. Why not invite someone along who may not have visited the club before, to see the facilities available? This is a great event to promote the club and entry is free.
