While we wait for any update from the club or the council a search of the Warwick District Council web-site reveals various activities and mentions of the proposed new Community Football Stadium at Gallows Hill.

Following Executive agreement in April 2021 to proceed with a Competitive Dialogue Process to source a developer for the Community Stadium and associated land, the findings of the CDP will be presented to the Executive for consideration of the next steps.

WDC Europa Way Spine Road Cycleway/ Footpath Link A cycle/ pedestrian path from the Stadium (Fusilier’s Way) through to Myton Road.
Relocation of athletics facility and creation of Commonwealth Park Relocation of the athletics facility from Edmondscote Road to new location by proposed Community Stadium. Edmondscote Road to be used as public open space (Commonwealth Park).
Spine road name appears to be Fusilier’s Way on Google Maps.

17Jul20 Weekly update from the Leader & Chief Executive
Agreements have been made for land north of Gallows Hill, Warwick to be developed as an expanded home for a local car dealership and a new hotel. This will help retain 100 jobs and create new employment opportunities. The listed Heathcote Hill Farmhouse will also be bought into public ownership to be repurposed, along with the adjoining former farm buildings, to create a neighbourhood centre for the new Myton Green community.

This week the Council Executive also agreed funding to:
- Continue the development of plans for the new Community Football Stadium. Working closely with Leamington FC, schools and neighbouring businesses we will be seeking to ensure that routes into and through this key area serve as good and safe access links to the Technology Park, local schools and amenities.
30 Sep’19 Work begins on new infrastructure for Europa Way
As well as housing this crucial phase will provide the main infrastructure for the site with the provision of a new spine road from Gallows Hill. This new route will link the housing developments to the planned Community Stadium and adjoining amenities including a school, medical centre, community hall, shops and hotel.

Potential changes to the stock of football pitches
5.203 There are several potential changes to the stock of football pitches across the district and these are documented and commented upon below;
Leamington FC are relocating as part of a project to develop a community stadium. The site will include a range of facilities including physiotherapy, podiatry as well as office space, conferencing and gym and catering provision. The AGP will offer wider community use, although the level that this club play at means that there are likely to be restrictions on the usage that created by the surface (20 hours usage per week). This facility is now going ahead and will be developed to the north of Gallows Hill to the South of Leamington Spa. There may be a need to replace the grass pitch at the previous site if there is no clear need (Sport England policy exception E5) for the new stadia pitch.
11Jan’19 Foundations in place for nearly 400 new affordable homes in Warwick
Waterloo Housing, part of the Platform Housing Group, has partnered with Warwick District Council and leading regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships to deliver 375 new homes in Europa Way.
Under the agreement, Galliford Try Partnerships will build 150 one, two, three and four bed homes for Waterloo Housing; all of which will be offered as affordable, social rented and shared ownership dwellings to local families and those in housing need.
This latest development will bring Waterloo Housing’s total investment in the district to just under £10 million which has provided 537 new homes in the area. This has been achieved by working closely with Warwick District Council to secure the land making way for much needed affordable housing and the development of a new Community Stadium for the Leamington Football Club and other sports groups in the area.
